How to use PC Health Check App

You will learn how you can use PC health check app to backup and sync your data, update windows, manage your PC storage, Device battery health and manage your startup programme.

Open PC health check app and click on Check now.

How to Backup & Sync Your Data?

  • You need to sign in to your Microsoft account firstly to take backup.
  • Click on ‘Backup & Sync’ to expand.
  • Then click on the Manage button from the ‘OneDrive Folder Syncing’ option to mange folders synced to OneDrive.

Note: Make a backup and sync your data, such as passwords, photos, files, etc., so that, they’ll be safe and available on all of your devices.

How to Windows Update?

  • Click on Open Windows Update to open Windows Update in the Settings of your PC.
    • This will show you the last update, the version of the Windows OS and when your last update was installed. Regular updates make the device secure and smooth.
  • If you want you can also turn off Windows Update from here.

How to Manage PC Storage Capacity?

  • Click on Manage storage settings to enable Storage Sense or to see more cleanup suggestions in the PC Health Check App.
  • Delete the temporary files by click on Remove files button to free up space.

Note: You can check the amount of storage space being utilized by the main drive of your device, it includes Windows, files, and apps. From the PC Health Check app you can also view the free space left in the internal storage.

How to check Battery capacity?

  • Select Battery Saving Tips for actions you can do to improve battery.

Note: For devices with one or two batteries, use PC Health Check to know how your batteries are doing compared to their original capacity.

How to Modify the Startup Programs?

  • Click on Manage your startup programs from the Startup Time to check and modify your startup programs.
  • Select the apps you believe are unnecessary and switch the setting to “Off”.

Note: Your PC may considerably slow if there are too many open applications when it startup. Therefore, it’s critical to restrict startup apps to a bare minimum in order to reduce boot times. This time depends on the apps installed, processor speed, RAM, and storage.

  • Click on Tips on PC Health from the bottom of the screen.
  • It will gives you different ways to enhance the performance of your PC.

Note: The PC Health Check tool generally suggests that you use Microsoft Edge as your browser, keep your PC updated, and activate Windows Defender for a safer online experience.

How to Rename your PC?

  • Click on the ‘Rename your PC‘ option on PC Health Check app screen’s left side bar.
  • Setting’s “About” section will open.
  • Click on “Rename this PC”.
  • After restarting, click ‘Next’ to update your name.
